THE DESIGN PROCESS
Pam Hunter Design believes in a simple, straight line approach to the process which is beneficial to both the client and designer. The process flow takes the following steps:
Step 1 - Gather Assets
Once we have submitted the Quote and we get the okay to go ahead with the project, asset gathering begins. Your Designer collaborates with your team to gather all the details related to the design. This includes content, graphics, photographs, video, other interactive elements, company history, and other content that pertains to the structure of the web site. We will also need to acquire a blueprint for how the site will be structured. If it is an eCommerce site, all details of credit card handling, merchant account and data base must be included.
Step 2 - Rough Draft
After all the assets have been gathered, your Designer will get back to the drawing board in creating the first draft of your design. This draft is submitted to the you for a first look at the future of the website. After you give constructive feedback, those details are included and changes are made. The next draft is then provided.
Step 3 - Revisions
The source of revisions is the rough design draft. Every revision ensures that the subsequent design draft is better than the earlier versions. After successive revisions, the draft starts to take shape and the final website gets closer to being published.
Step 4 - Approval of Final Draft
The final design draft is the result of client feedback and ongoing improvements. It is imperative the design team has open communication during these first stages. Once you give the approval - the final draft is uploaded to a temporary editing location on the web. You will be able to see changes as they take place, this gives you a real hands on feel for the design process.
Step 5 - Final Site Delivery
Once all the revisions have been made and all corrections are included, the site is ready to be uploaded to your host. This requires you to give the design team your hosting company, user name, password (you can change it after the site is live). Yes, trust is required, but you can rest assured that your information is kept safe and confidential. Your site is live! Great job!
